Meet The Team

I am Dr. Jillian Mahatha, and I am excited that you have found my webpage. I enjoy working with individuals, couples, families, adults, adolescents, and children. My goal is to promote overall contentment and inner happiness in clients.

I am the practice owner of Therapy and Empowerment, a Licensed Professional Counselor (Texas), a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (North Carolina), a National Certified Counselor, a Certified Play Therapist, an Approved Clinical Supervisor, a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, and a Certified Telemental Health Provider. I have been in the counseling field since 2009, and it is my passion. I maintain virtual office space for North Carolina and Texas clients, providing the same level of care and support as in-person sessions but with added convenience and flexibility.

I have worked with various populations, cultures, ethnicities, sexual orientations, and ages to help overcome anxiety, depression, anger management, interpersonal, behavioral, sexual disorders, and marital concerns.

My work is not just a profession; it's my passion. I am deeply committed to helping people and am here to listen, challenge, and support you on your journey to healing and growth.

As you consider this important step toward your well-being, I wish you peace, blessings, healing, and wellness. Remember, you are not alone in this journey.

My approach

My theoretical orientations include humanistic-existential, cognitive behavioral, and solution-focused brief therapy. I use these approaches to look at the whole person while helping clients remain true to themselves (humanistic), identify and challenge unhelpful thoughts (cognitive), increase self-awareness responsibility, and live more authentic lives (existential) while focusing on finding solutions for issues in the here and now (solution-focused). Despite my most often used theoretical approaches, I integrate spirituality and methods that match each unique client's needs when requested and appropriate.
